Does GimmeTab handle the money?
No. GimmeTab is a ledger and calculator — it does the math on your side bets and tells you who owes who. No money is ever collected, held, or moved through the app. Settle up however you normally do.
Does everyone need an account?
No. Anyone can join a round with a code and start playing — no sign-up needed. Signing in is optional; it saves your rounds and history across devices and unlocks Career Stats.
How do I join a round?
Open the join link someone shared, or tap Join and enter the round's code. You'll pick who you are from the roster and you're in.
How do I enter scores?
On the scorecard, tap any cell and use the keypad. Not playing every hole? Tap a golfer's ⇄ totals button to just enter their front-9 and back-9 totals instead. A 🔒 holes lock means that golfer is in a bet that needs every hole — skins, match, Wolf, Sixes, Nines, Vegas, or anything with presses turned on.
How are bets settled?
Each bet works out who owes who, and the Settle up screen nets it all into the simplest set of payments. Bets are private to the golfers in them — there's no group-wide money view.
What's an event? Can I track a multi-day trip?
An event groups several rounds — a buddies trip or member-guest — under one name. Add the group once with each golfer's handicap, and every round you create inside the event starts with the whole roster. The event leaderboard totals all the rounds, gross and net. Bets stay on each day's round exactly as normal, with a per-day settle-up. Heads up: rounds inside an event still count toward the free plan's 2 new rounds per month.
Which games can I track?
Nassau, match play, Vegas, Wolf, Sixes, Nines (5-3-1), skins, closest to the pin, and dots — plus presses (manual or automatic) on a Nassau, match, Sixes or Nines. Each one is explained on the how the games work page.
How do handicap strokes work?
Strokes are set per bet, so the same round can run a scratch skins game and a stroked Nassau side by side. Where they're entered depends on how the game is decided:
- Nassau — give a golfer strokes on the front nine, the back, or both. They come off that nine's total before the sides are compared.
- Sixes, Nines and match play — enter each golfer's course handicap. Everyone plays off the lowest handicap in the bet, so the best player gives shots instead of everyone taking them.
- Events — a multi-round trip carries a handicap per golfer on its roster, which drives the event's net leaderboard and prefills the handicaps on a Sixes or Nines bet inside it.
Sixes, Nines and match play are decided hole by hole, so their strokes have to land on specific holes. Enter your card's stroke index on the scorecard (1 = hardest) and strokes go to the hardest holes, exactly like real golf. Skip it and they spread evenly across the round — a 3-handicap strokes on holes 1, 7 and 13. Partial indexes are ignored until all 18 are filled in.
Vegas, Wolf, skins and closest-to-the-pin are played straight up — no strokes. Presses are too by default, since a press is a fresh even-money bet on the holes that are left — but if your group carries strokes into a press, switch that on when you set the bet up.

Joining rounds is always free and unlimited. New accounts get a 14-day free trial of everything; after that, the free plan covers up to 2 new rounds you create per month. What is the AI Caddie?
A Pro feature (also in your 14-day trial) that reads your bet stats and gives you sharp picks, smart strokes, and a game plan for your matchups. It's AI-generated, so use cautiously. To make it work, your stats (golfer names, results, stakes — never your email) are sent to AI, which responds with insights; details in the Privacy Policy.
Is my data private? Can I delete it?
We collect as little as possible and never sell your data — see the Privacy Policy. You can delete your account and data anytime from Delete account on the home screen.
